Jet Training
Swords Aviation provides all aspects of basic and advanced jet pilot training.
From basic handling and circuits all the way up to advanced aerobatics, spins,
close formation flying, tailchasing and high altitude training. Our instructors are experts and
between them have flown the Tornado, Harrier, Lightning, Hawk and Hunter.
They are mostly ex-RAF QFIs and have extensive experience of instructing on the Jet Provost. It is
fair to say that our members receive some of the best instruction available outside the armed forces,
better still is that Swords Aviation have now made this training available to all potential jet pilots.
In the past
considerable capital outlay was required to even think of flying a jet and if capital
were available then high quality instructors were hard to come by - not anymore.
Swords Aviation has made it possible without capital outlay to provide fully CAA approved
jet conversion training with experts on beautifully maintained aircraft.
Take a look at our membership page
and see just how possible it really is to become jet qualified.
Members converting to the Jet Provost will, regardless of previous experience,
undertake a thorough jet conversion course which consists of the four Basic Flying Training Modules.
Experienced pilots may do this in a few hours whereas inexperienced pilots
may take a little longer. There are no minimum or maximum times for conversion,
the instructors will push students along at a pace that is appropriate for the individual. On completion of the conversion course members are free to carry passengers, explore new airfields or simply enjoy the chance to fly a jet. Many of our members go on to undertake more demanding flying with advanced training in aerobatics and close formation flying.
Most training is conducted from our base at North Weald however we also use other airfields including Kemble, Elvington (York), Norwich, Cambridge, Manston, along with Humberside and Bournemouth. |
